How do I configure user tracking?
after google's transition from universal analytics (ua) to google analytics 4 (ga4), ticketmatic decided to no longer support tracking user behavior via google tag manager this decision was made due to uncertainties around gdpr compliance and privacy protection for customers who have used this in the past, ticketmatic will still send ua events unchanged, which google will then translate into ga4 events (if migrated from ua to ga4) the current setup via google tag manager will therefore remain active for existing accounts and can still be used for an indefinite period however, ticketmatic will no longer provide further support for this phased out approach for new customers, or if the migration is not sufficient for existing customers, we now offer a new approach that allows customers to set up user tracking themselves, without ticketmatic intervention the key points of this new solution ticketmatic will record user behavior during widget sessions internally this means that no data is sent via trackers or scripts to external parties ticketmatic widgets will no longer contain cookies, except for essential cookies needed to register orders and logins the dependency on google tag manager is eliminated tracking is optional and can be enabled or disabled at the session level by you specifically, you can decide via a widget parameter whether you want to activate tracking for that widget session or not because the tracking is done internally, the collected data is high quality the data contains accurate information from ticketmatic, which can be linked back later the tracking data can be linked to the website session a reference can be provided via a widget parameter, which will be used upon receiving the tracking data to make this connection the tracking data is made available to you in streaming format via the ticketmatic api this means you have near real time access to detailed tracking data through a script or job, you (or your web developer/marketing partner) can read and further process the tracking data as desired for example, if you want to use google analytics 4, you can forward the received tracking data to google analytics 4 via the measurement protocol ( https //developers google com/analytics/devguides/collection/protocol/ga4 https //developers google com/analytics/devguides/collection/protocol/ga4 ) of course, you can also feed alternative analytics tools this way for more information on how to set up this tracking method, please refer to the documentation under user tracking docid\ t52vdagm3uzruuxt1yrov
