With **ticket fees**, you automatically add an additional cost to a ticket within an order. You can use this, for example, to charge a ticket surcharge or service fee.

A ticket fee differs from an **order fee**. An order fee is calculated on the entire order, while a ticket fee is charged separately for each ticket.

Ticket fees are managed via the **Settings** app, under **Pricing**, and are then linked to individual events.

## Configuring ticket fees

Add a new fee using the blue button in the top-right corner.

### 1. Name

Give your ticket fee configuration a name, e.g. *service fee* or *box office fee*.

### 2. Set the fee

Set the fee per sales channel. Use the dropdown arrow to choose between a fixed amount or a percentage. The **Default** setting applies the calculation across the entire price list.

### 3. Exceptions

If, in certain cases, no fee or a different amount should be charged, you can add exceptions using the plus icon based on a ticket type.

When you modify a ticket fee configuration, the changes will apply to all events where the fee is linked. Tickets that have already been sold will remain unchanged.

## How do you link a ticket fee to an event?

A ticket fee is linked to the price configuration of a specific event. You therefore need to select the desired ticket fee separately for each event.

Open the event, click **Edit** under **Price**, and then select **Change price configuration**.

You will now see the same page where you can also select a price list. If you are using event-specific prices, leave the **Price list** field empty and select the desired ticket fee in the field below. Click **Save** to save your changes.

After saving, the event's price configuration will show the ticket fee for each ticket type. The amounts are automatically calculated based on the rules you configured under **Settings > Pricing**.

**Please note:** when you set a ticket fee for an event, it applies to the entire price configuration of that event. If you use the same ticket types across multiple contingents, the ticket fee will automatically be applied to all of those contingents.

If you want a specific contingent to have a different ticket fee or no ticket fee, use separate, specific ticket types for that contingent.

Ticket fees are not calculated for price types of the **subscription** type. For these price types, the ticket fee is always €0, regardless of which ticket fee is configured.

## What does this look like for the customer?

During the checkout process, the customer sees a clear breakdown of the ticket price and any applicable ticket fee. This is already displayed on the first page of the checkout process:

The same breakdown is also clearly displayed in the shopping cart:
